About Nisba

We're building halal financial tools we wish we'd had

Nisba started because a group of friends couldn't find a straightforward way to invest without compromising their faith. We're not a bank or a fund — we're a small team trying to make halal investing accessible to everyday Muslims.

How it started

It began with a question in a group chat

In 2023, someone in a community WhatsApp group asked: “Where can I invest my savings without compromising my deen?” The replies were all over the place — links to forums, vague suggestions, warnings about questionable platforms. No one had a clear answer.

A few of us started keeping a shared spreadsheet of Shariah-compliant stocks. We’d research each one, cross-check with scholars, and share our notes. Word spread. More people asked to join. The spreadsheet became a website, then a platform.

We’re not trying to be the biggest fintech. We just want to be the one we would have wanted when we were starting out: honest, clear, and genuinely halal.

What we

The few things we try to get right.

Shariah-first

We screen every investment against AAOIFI guidelines with qualified scholars. If there's doubt, we don't list it. Simple as that.

Teach, don't just tell

Our goal isn't to keep you dependent on us. The academy, guides, and tools are built to help you understand halal investing well enough to make your own decisions.

Built with the community

Nisba started because real people had real questions. Every feature comes from conversations with members — not a product roadmap written in isolation.

Honest about how it works

We explain our fees, our screening process, and our limitations openly. If something changes, you'll hear about it from us first.

How we approach

We're not scholars ourselves — so we work with people who are.

AAOIFI guidelines

We follow the standards set by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions. These are the same standards used by Islamic banks and funds globally.

Scholar-reviewed

Our screening methodology is regularly reviewed by qualified scholars. If they raise a concern, we act on it — no exceptions.

Ongoing monitoring

A stock being halal today doesn't mean it stays that way forever. We monitor holdings and let you know if a company's status changes.

We’re still early in this journey, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Whether you’re completely new to investing or you’ve been doing this for years — if you care about growing your wealth the halal way, there’s a place for you here. No hard sell. Just honest tools, clear education, and a community figuring this out together.
